Now 94 years old, saxophonist Benny Golson, a pillar of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, composed the classic 'Blues March', 'Along Came Betty' and 'Whisper Not' for this band.
The band led by bassist Jacques Vidal - with Éric Barret on saxophone, pianist Manuel Rocheman and drummer Philippe Soirat - will revive his unique saxophone sound and his talent as a composer, at a time when jazz was fully asserting its black roots around an irresistible swing and a formidable energy with the emergence of hard bop.
