At the Jazz Festival in Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris, the two voices of Cecil L. Recchia and Marion Rampal take us to the lands of New Orleans during this great evening of women's jazz.

ENCHANTING SONGWRITER AND SINGER

Imagine you are sitting in a New Orleans bar, savoring a spicy gumbo, a traditional Louisiana dish. It is in that ambiance that bubbly singer Cecil L. Recchia conceived her critically-acclaimed album “The Gumbo”, released in September 2018. After her debut album, a tribute to pianist Ahmad Jamal, the talented composer is back at it again by immersing herself in NOLA music, with much elegance and the accompaniment of a swinging and swaying quartet.

Let yourself get carried away by the new gem of vocal jazz, who will lead you to the roots of the French Quarter’s rhythm, a twin neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés!

“Jazz being sung with magnificence by Cecil L. Recchia.” // André Manoukian (France Inter)                                                           “Classy musicians and a bubbly yet suave singer, whose good taste doesn’t allow for anything over the top.” // Louis-Julien Nicolaou (Télérama)                                                                                                                                                                        “Elegant from start to finish” // Laurent Valero (Fip)

ENCHANTING SONGWRITER AND SINGER

Under the sky of a reinvented New Orleans, singer-songwriter Marion Rampal shaped “Main Blue” with swift yet simple songs. Love betrayals, uprisings, tempests, the material for this album is deep blue, the kind from the bayou which permeates all music from the Mississippi delta.

Her voice, unlike any other, takes flight between tradition and invention, catchy tunes and improvisation, African-American pop and classical Western roots.

To top it all off, drummer Anne Paceo and Rhodes-Chief Pierre-François Blanchard support these compositions with powerful groove. A celebration of blues as the art of emotion incarnate.
