Antoine Galvani Sextet "L’Ère De La Musique Libre"

After his very rock-heavy album Suite Astrale (2017), Antoine Galvani is back with a new project in which he leaves his progressive approach far behind. A straight to the point description: A sort of Mr Bungle on acid taking a nice cup of tea with Brad Mehdlau. The result is called "the era of musical freedom", a conceptual way of writing based on a simple question: does musical freedom exist? Can we let go of all preexisting codes and write in a truly free manner, without a fixed meter, without a preconceived harmonic outline, without worrying where the melody is emanating from? Can we give free rein to the imagination of musicians regardless of talent? An answer that can only to be found on stage.
