Based in Paris, Jean-Michel Pilc founded his first trio with François Moutin and Tony Rabeson and made his first albums, including Funambule in 1989, followed by Big One (1992) recorded by an orchestra of thirteen musicians. His implantation in the hexagonal scene led him to perform regularly with André Ceccarelli, Michel Portal, Daniel Humair, Aldo Romano, Eric Le Lann, among others, and even his elder Martial Solal, who encourages him, but also with musicians such as drummer Roy Haynes and saxophonist Jean Toussaint. Between two solo albums he remained faithful to the formula of the trio and get back on stage with the Moutin brothers for our greatest pleasure.
