Since Thomas Dutronc was born of parents who are both musicians (and icons for several generations), some may say (maliciously) that in the light of his parents’ celebrity, he only had to let his genes and the press do the work. But the truth is: without renouncing his famous ascendants, Thomas takes it all with serenity. After all, his friend Mathieu (Chédid!) is the son of Louis, and that doesn’t stop him from being himself!

By way of concerts in bistros, passing from cramped conditions to fine tables, Thomas Dutronc lives out his passion without taking himself too seriously. But he does take music seriously… and sings so! Live is Love, his latest album, sanctifies a long decade spent walking a fine line between gypsy jazz and songs, released under the most venerable of jazz record labels, «Blue Note». When he talks about music, just like when he performs, his passion shines through his eyes and gestures: a mixture of seduction, smooth talk, self-mockery, and real talent too.
