Maher Beauroy + Andy Narell

In Creole, the word washa is an interjection to say the moment, the flash. The album "WASHA!" is part of the aesthetics of contemporary jazz. It is in quintet that Maher Beauroy delivers us a first original, energetic and fiery album inspired by his Afro-Caribbean roots, classical music and his travels. The pianist alternates freely lyricism and tempest of rhythmic pulsations. "WASHA!" crystallizes this moment of departure and emancipation. It is the sound of the blade that opens a path in the high grass, it is the crash of the waves facing all horizons.

Since its release on 19 April 2019, "WASHA!" was the "Album of the week" on FIP (France Inter Paris - May 2019), qualified as "REVELATION" by Jazz Magazine (N°717 - June 2019) and the pianist presented as the "New Star of Caribbean Jazz" by TSF Jazz.
