Benjamin Moussay "Promontoire"

After his active participation in three major albums by Louis Sclavis on ECM (Sources, Salt and Silk Melodies, and Characters on a Wall), in which his sense of improvisation burst with each measure, the French pianist Benjamin Moussay saw himself proposed recording a solo album. He presents to us today with Promontoire the result of his work: a thoughtful, thoughtful and intensely lyrical album which stands out as both a deeply original personal work and an admirable contribution to the long series of solo piano albums including ECM has become a specialty over time. Promontoire was produced by Manfred Eicher, and recorded at Studios la Buissonne in January 2019.
