La Barbacane

Since 1986, the Barbacane has been the cultural site and a must-see place for Beynois and local residents.

Place of reception of the rural foyer, the library and of artistic activities associative, the barbacane is a theatre and a cinema of nearly 300 places, managed by the Syndicat intercommunal des communes de Beynes, Garancières, La-Queue-Lez Yvelines, Marcq, Saulx-marchais, Villiers le Mahieu and Thoiry.

With its dynamism, its involvement and its accessibility, La barbacane has become the first Yvelines place to wear the label of «Scene conventionnée pour la musique» issued by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, through the Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs. It is thus actively involved in the development of the creation, dissemination and accompaniment of musical creation.
