Viviane Ginapé Invites Mario Canonge

Viviane Ginapé honours the rhythmic support of the text, the original lyrics as well as scat and vocal improvisation. She owes her love of jazz to Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, whom she interprets with passion. Eric Dolphy, Tania Maria, Milton Nascimento and Richie Beirach have added their Latin touch to her musical palette. As a singer and teacher of vocal expression and improvisation, the dynamism of the lyrics is central to her work, as is the range of possibilities offered by scat and vocal improvisation. Alternately percussive, instrumental or singer, Viviane's voice is fully invested in the present moment and never ceases to surprise us! Each date is an opportunity for her to invite a pianist or a guitarist: Antoine Delprat, Jacques Boutineau, Alain Ginapé and of course Alain Jean-Marie and Mario Canonge, with whom she made an album in 2015 based on compositions by Michel Legrand.
