Special Miles Davis / / 80S
#PlaceAuxJeunes
Miles Davis. Just the mention of the name alone would be enough. The mythical trumpeter who turned his back on his audience, leaves behind him a gigantic legacy that has left its mark on the history of music. His style evolved with his encounters and his life, during the bebop, cool jazz and electric periods... cult albums, "Bitches Brew" (1970), "Tutu" (1986) and a soundtrack too: "Elevator to the Scaffold". Most of his sidemen have gone on to incredible careers, and have in turn influenced many artists: Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Dave Liebman, the list goes on!
Miles' music was a turning point in the career of German-born saxophonist, flutist and composer Nora Kamm, who particularly mentions the post-mortem album "Live Around the World" as an influence. She will host this special Miles Davis // 80s #PlaceAuxJeunes jam. Noticed in the last few years on the French jazz scene, Nora won the Selmer Soloist Prize, awarded by Patrick Selmer at the Tremplin Jeunes Talents 2014 (Festival Saint-Germain-des-Prés), she has been sharing the stage since 2011 with musicians such as Michel Benita, Andy Sheppard, Emile Parisien, Vincent Peirani, Manu Dibango, Paco Sery, Cheick Tidiane Seck, Mariana Ramos and many others.
