Kristina Ray Quintet

Barry Harris, a prominent be bop pianist, educator and composer had been on the New York and world jazz scene for over 40 years. In 2014, he was honored by the Grammy Recording Academy along with Hank Jones and Oscar Peterson. Passing away in December 2021, Kristina Ray and her quintet will pay a fitting tribute to him.
Kristina had been studying with Barry since 2015 in his weekly masterclasses, she will be performing the songs and compositions she learned alongside him. She also had the honor of playing in his legendary choir at the Village Vanguard, so part of the concert will be dedicated to Barry's compositions.
