Mario Canonge Michel Zenino Duo opens the ball for this 5th edition of the CZ Festival, with Beethova Obas and Tilo Bertholo as exceptional guests!
OBAS BEETHOVA, a guitarist from Haiti who owes his name to the timeless Beethoven. He composes and sings about injustices, abuses of power and the history of the Haitian people, while at the same time offering through his music a burst of optimism that his latest album "Bon Bagay", released in 2020, makes us understand so well.
TILO BERTHOLO, The young drummer from Martinique trained as a child with Romain Pallud (Malavoi, la Perfecta) and it is with cymbals, snare drum but also with brio that Tilo Bertholo will give rhythm to this evening #CZ. A partner of Gregory Privat on several of his projects, he is part of the Big In Jazz Collective, a project that will release its album on February 3rd at the New Morning. He is now THE drummer to watch in the world of jazz.
The CZ Festival, a mixture of artists, generations, styles, surprising and unexpected human and musical encounters, a desire to shake up the boundaries and create before the eyes of the public a parenthesis, a moment of intense and unique music, where emotion and sincerity prevail. It all started with the duo Canonge / Zenino 16 years ago. Since then, the two musicians have been meeting every Wednesday to improvise on jazz standards and once a year, on the occasion of the CZ Festival, they invite us to meet the cream of today's and tomorrow's musicians.
