Powerful tenor saxophonist Don Menza started as both a soloist and an arranger with Maynard Ferguson’s Orchestra and collaborated with Buddy Rich and Elvin Jones. His career as a composer is equally successful with pieces such as “Groovin’ Hard” and “Time Check” that have become standard repertoire.
