Jam Session Hosted By Caloé #Placeauxjeunes
Tribute to GAL COSTA
Caloé sings jazz, improvises, performs music from different cultures and writes music and words. She is a fervent admirer of Ella Fitzgerald and studies "scat" with precision and technique to master it in her own way. Always surrounded by excellent musicians, she performs in France and abroad. Caloé has played in many places such as the Tribeca Arts Center in New York, the Zinco Jazz Club in Mexico City, the Cosmopolitan Hall in Oslo, the Fashing Jazz Club in Stockholm and various European festivals.
For this jam, Caloé pays tribute to Gal Costa who left us a short time ago. Diva adored in Brazil, she embodies the purest vocal virtuosity, and the fiercest rebellion. Too little known in France, this heroine is an incredible interpreter who tells a certain story of Brazil and its music, freedom and rebellion, alternating between innovations and daring. A talented guitarist but never a composer, a political muse never directly attacked, a femme fatale and bisexual, Gal Costa embodies everything that Brazil was able to put down during the second half of the 20th century.
