Macha Gharibian

Winner of the "Victoires du Jazz" in 2020, pianist Macha Gharibian is on tour with Joy Ascension. A third intimate album, which manifests as much the power of joy, which it refers, in hollow, to the tragedy of the Armenian people.

As for the titles of this new opus, each is like a series of self-portraits in music and words, they together compose the manifesto of a free woman and an artist of her time. Without cheating, she delivers her contrasting emotions, her nuanced torments, her “magical” subjects of exaltation, intermingling Armenian tradition, jazz, and soul.
