The French violinist Gabriel Bismut and the accordionist-pianist Maurizio Minardi play instruments characteristic of the music of their countries of origin. Composers and improvisers, they have found in jazz, often subject to crossbreeding, an ideal territory for the meeting of these two musics. In search of French and Italian traces in world music, they tint their music with the colours of tango and Latin waltzes, jazz and baroque music. As a quartet with guitar and double bass, their repertoire is made up of their original compositions with melodies influenced by Nino Rota and Jacques Brel.
After more than 60 concerts in France and Europe, they released their first album "Le Chat Brel" at the end of 2020, under the artistic direction of Marc Berthoumieux.
