In her new quartet, the radiant pianist is surrounded by the flutist Naïssam Jalal (winner of the 2019 Victoires du Jazz), the unavoidable double bass player Simon Tailleu and the drummer-percussionist Jean-Luc Difraya, her lifelong partner. West of the Moon, the new project of the composer, improviser and melodist, gives us the opportunity to hear a warm, sensitive music, which navigates between blues, folk and modal atmospheres. The compositions are airy and always very pure. The harmonic colours are chosen with the same elegance and accompany improvisations that put us in a state of sweet trance.
