Franck Filosa 4Tet

After his last album "My Soul, My Sol" recorded with Carine Bonnefoy and Mathias Allamane, the drummer Franck Filosa is surrounded by the talented Franck Avitabile on piano, Maxime Jean-Louis on saxophone and Nicola Sabato on double bass for a tribute to the music of Cedar Walton. Lulled by jazz since childhood, Franck Filosa has been teaching and defending it on stage for over twenty years. His playing is inspired by the greatest... The musicalities of John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Benny Golson or Thelonious Monk are expressed and live through his compositions.

In 2013 the famous pianist and composer Cedar Walton left us. Pianist, sideman and composer notably with Art Blakey's "Jazz Messengers" or leader with the legendary Eastern Rebellion quartet in the 70s/80s, Cedar Walton is a major composer in the history of jazz. His link with drumming legends such as Art Blakey and Billy Higgins is no stranger to Franck Filosa's musical choice.  

Melodic play, grace, energy and virtuosity are the key words of this evening!
