Tifen offers authentic and moving music that is rooted in indie folk, pop and jazz.
Tifen's music is resolutely authentic and moving, stemming from her mixed roots and unusual background. Growing up in a family with Algerian, Russian and Polish origins, she started learning music at the age of 4 with the piano. Very early noticed for her voice, it is quite naturally that she turns then to the lyric singing, performing as a soloist or in choir, while nourishing little by little a growing taste for the pop, multiplying soon the experiments until the incursions in the world of the jazz. At the age of twenty, she learns the guitar and begins to write her own songs that she plays in cafes, on trips or in the street. Her music is rooted in the indie folk of American songwriters, pop and jazz. Through compositions that are sometimes sunny, sometimes dark, but never melancholy, her voice captivates with its softness and sensitivity. Her texts translate with modesty the trials she has gone through and the memory of loved ones who left too soon. They deliver her poetic vision of the world and evoke the memory of things gone and the hope of those to come. The whole results in songs with bewitching and organic atmospheres, between exultant joy and delicacy, through an audacious and original music.
