Born from the encounter of the African scale and Western music, the blues, originally sung, expresses the pain of slaves in the New World. Black musicians must also play the music imposed by their masters. This fusuin which is at the origin of Jazz will irrigate it throughout its evolution until it also "colonizes" "modern" music: rock 'n' roll and pop-music.
The group "Four For Blues" strives to show the persistence of this blues throughout the history of jazz by interpreting themes from Basie, Monk, Mingus... and also funk music from the Blue Note years!

Cyrille Méchin (Saxophones)
