On 4 August 1962, at the height of her fame, Marilyn Monroe tragically died of an overdose at the age of 36. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of her death, many tributes have been paid to her in recent months.
An icon of American pop culture, adored as an actress and model, Marilyn's singing career is often overlooked. Her idol was Ella Fitzgerald, to whom she gave precious support to perform at the Mocambo, a select Hollywood club that was still racially segregated.
Come and (re)discover her greatest hits ("Diamonds are a girl's best friend", "I wanna be loved by you", "My heart belongs to daddy") as well as other forgotten gems from her repertoire, performed by Marie Livingstone and her quartet. A few biographical anecdotes about his life and films will shed light on this too often forgotten part of his work.
