Six very active artists of the national jazz scene give a new impulse to a repertoire that is almost a century old! Shades is the collective voice of a jazz band with four tessituras: Pablo Campos, Ellinoa, Elora Antolin and Marion Chrétien, subtly supported by Antoine Laudière's guitar and Etienne Quézel's bass clarinet. Shades is a voice at the service of a legend, that of the Broadway musicals of the 40's and 50's but also that of the songs that consecrated the vocal art of Sinatra, Nat King Cole or Ella Fitzgerald.
This crossing of the great musical avenues of New York does not prevent the musicians of Shades from losing themselves, in all conscience, in the voluptuous meanders of vocal improvisation. It's as if these cross streets lead straight to a jazz club in 1930's Harlem, where the best of swing was created, sometimes undone but always reinvented. This intense musical creativity was only made possible by a tremendous desire to play together and by a will to appropriate a style while renewing its genre. This imagination and virtuosity still permeates the talent of Shades!
Created in 2012, the #JazzFromTomorrow program has given birth to a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies, allowing young artists to experiment on stage, to develop a repertoire, while presenting it to the public. A promising and promising niche where creativity and emulsion have no limits. #BeCurious!
