The Guyanese-Martinican saxophonist and composer Rodolphe Lauretta has materialized with his second album "Kreolia" (supported by Culture Box, France Musique, Fip, the BBC, cited by Gilles Peterson as one of the flagship albums of 2021) the interest aroused by his first opus "Raw" released in 2017 in trio with Arnaud Dolmen and Damien Varaillon. Pursuing his quest for a contemporary jazz, anchored in hip-hop, Caribbean influences and open to all possibilities, he invites three exceptional musicians among the most promising of the current scene, for a high-flying meeting!
Named by TSF Jazz as the "new star of Caribbean jazz", Xavier Belin is a very promising young pianist from Martinique. In double residency at the Baiser Salé, he multiplies projects (Pléonasme, Crossing) and his first album "Pitakpi" was highly acclaimed by the critics, named "Revelation" by Jazz Magazine!
Cuban bassist, composer and actor, Damian Nueva draws his inspiration and influences from Afro-Cuban rhythms, jazz, funk and soul music. In 2020, he played the lead role of Jude in the critically acclaimed Netflix series "The Eddy".
Tilo Bertholo, drummer from Martinique, trained as a child with Romain Pallud (Malavoi, la Perfecta) and it is with cymbals, snare drum but also with brio that he will give rhythm to this evening. Partner of Gregory Privat, he is part of the Big In Jazz Collective project. He is today THE drummer of the Jazz world.
