Henrik André Quintet – New Album "Stormy Ride"

Violinist and composer Henrik André presents "Stormy Ride", his 1st album of original compositions. A repertoire specially arranged for an unusual instrumental formation, a quintet with electric violin and transverse flute.

The jazz on this new album is a blend of groove and hard bop, with occasional hints of Andalusia and Latin America, where Henrik lived for a time, as well as Eastern Europe. Throughout this journey, sometimes stormy, sometimes luminous, Henrik André transcribes in this authentic and singular album the range of his musical influences and the emotions associated with them.

To bring this sensitive, strong, sincere music to life, leaving room for the creativity of each of the five musicians in the group, Henrik André has surrounded himself with the young, talented generation of pianist Irina Leach and Mediterranean-sounding flautist Arthur Tanguy, and a formidable rhythm section provided by Rémy Hervo on electric bass and Guillaume Dommartin on drums.
