Sunday Jam Hosted By Matis Hurion
Special D'ANGELO
Originally from the Paris region, Matis grew up in the south of France in an artistic family, with a composer father and author mother. He took his first steps at the Perpignan conservatory. With his DEM in hand in 2021, he decided to move to Paris, where he began frequenting the city's clubs and getting involved in various projects. In September of the same year, he joined the Pôle Supérieur de Paris Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB), where he is currently pursuing his musical studies, notably with Martin Wangermée. His influences include Robert Glasper, Kendrick Lamar, Nick Hakim, SiR... and renowned drummers such as CJ Thompson, Justin Tyson, Taron Lockett, Rico Nichols...
It promises to be a colorful, modern and dynamic jam!
For the occasion, he tackles the repertoire of D'Angelo, symbol of the 1970s soul revival in contemporary R&B, and the undisputed heir to Marvin Gaye. His legendary album Voodoo, a collection of thirteen tracks of the highest vocal quality, won him the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album and Best R&B Singer at the 43rd edition the following year.
