Nicolas Fox is a versatile drummer, percussionist and composer who has worked on a variety of projects with artists such as Médéric Collignon, Riccardo Del Fra and, above all, nOx.3 and Linda Olàh.
He has given us only the names of the musicians he will be inviting for this residency, and promises that "each evening will be unique, tailor-made for the 38...".
For this Carte blanche, Fox will duet with Médéric Collignon, "L'enfant terrible".
After growing up playing classical trumpet at the Charleville-Mézières Conservatoire, and arranging for O. MESSIAEN (Quatuor de la Fin du Temps), he decided to branch out into other forms of expression, including improvisation. Arriving in Paris at the age of 27, after several years rich in experience, he crossed paths with various key players in French jazz: Cl. Barthélémy, M. Portal, L. Sclavis, D. Badault, A. Emler, etc., and played an active part in orchestras such as F. Pallem's "Le Sacre du Tympan" and S. Gaxie's "Zhig Band". He also plays bass with Alerta G and the ONJ. His personal projects are a way of mixing great collective works: "Porgy & Bess" by G.Evans and M.Davis, the electric period of Miles between 1968-75, the progressive rock of "King Crimson", the film music of L.Schifrin-Q.Jones-D.Shire, Hip-Hop (the Golden Age) and soon his own compositions... because he has been composing since the conservatory. He has played in many parts of the world, and never leaves curious audiences indifferent. Theater, cinema, exhibitions, literature, performance...complete his insatiable appetite. The many awards he has accumulated over the course of his rich career in no way detract from his independence, his curiosity about all the tools available to him and his boundless energy.
