Xavier Belin – Pléonasme Season 2

After a first season that seduced us, Xavier Belin returns with a second season of his "Pléonasme" concept with ever more efficient guests!

Named by TSF Jazz as the "new star of Caribbean jazz", Xavier Belin is a very promising young pianist. His music is often defined as “Caribbean jazz”, “Creole jazz” or even “Afro descendant jazz” because these terms make his music quickly identifiable. However the pianist shows us through his music that these terms are only pleonasms starting from the constant that these musical styles come from the same essence.

During this residency, Xavier Belin comes to present to us this repertoire of jazz standards from Martinique, Reunion, via Haiti or Trinidad... This evening, he surrounds himself with exceptional musicians with the drummer and composer from Guadeloupe Arnaud Dolmen, author of two critically acclaimed records. In 2022, he won the Victoire du Jazz categories "Revelation", "Musician of the Year" and Top 3 of the best drummers of the year according to Jazz Magazine and Jazz News. With his elegant, highly technical bass playing and his unique groove, Stépahane Castry has won the recognition of his peers and his public by collaborating with Kassav', Jocelyne Béroard, Cunnie Williams, Angélique Kidjo, Ayo, Sinclair, Kéziah Jones… He is one of the most talented and acclaimed Caribbean musicians of his generation.

Created in 2012, the #JazzDeDemain niche gave birth to a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies, allowing young artists to experience the stage, to prowl a repertoire, while presenting it to the public. A promising and buoyant niche where creativity and emulsion have no limit. #BeCurious!
