Thelonious Monk's artistic legacy remains one of the most original and fascinating that jazz has left. "Monk played the piano as if he'd never seen one before," said English writer Geoff Dyer in his book Jazz Improv. A paradox full of truth, in his approach to music made of innocence and creativity, of an ever full immersion in an inner world from which he drew a mysterious strength. Masterpieces such as "Round Midnight", "Monk's Mood" and "Pannonica" are the fruit of this extraordinary creativity.

If jazz is a way of living music in the moment, Simon Chivallon is the epitome of this, and each solo demonstrates this in its spontaneity and directness. There's no room for pretence: what's played is what comes, a sensitivity that expresses itself, a talent that breathes and seeks to touch the listener. Host of the Sunday JAM once a month, Simon invites us to a bowl of fresh air in the heat of summer during his jam sessions at the #FestivalEstivalDeJam!

From July 27 to September 11, the #FestivalEstivalDeJam #17 welcomes 200 musicians to spend a memorable summer with you at the Baiser Salé!

With 45 concerts and the participation of numerous jammers, experience the unforgettable jam session whether you're into fusion, free jazz, funk or even pop... there's something for everyone!

More than just a concert, a jam session is an opportunity to discover outstanding musicians and see them have a blast improvising together in complete freedom. But you don't need to play an instrument to take part in this very special moment, and enjoy the very special energy of these open stages. The public, beginners, amateurs, professionals, young and old... Everyone is welcome to come and measure themselves against the best and tackle these musical jousts that leave no one indifferent!

Every evening, a one-hour concert sets the scene for the evening, before the JAM takes us through the night, mixing yesterday's classics with today's trends.
