Saxophonist "resolutely lyrical, with a personal approach, and whose inspiration draws less from his elders than from his own imagination" (JazzTimes), Jerome Sabbagh was born in France in 1973 and has lived in New York since 1995. He has recorded 8 discs noticed as a leader, with in particular Ben Monder, Ben Street, Jozef Dumoulin, Greg Tuohey, Rodney Green, Daniel Humair and Rudy Royston. He was also one of the last saxophonists of Paul Motian, with whom he performed for a week at the Village Vanguard in New York, in the legendary drummer's "New Trio". He has played with today's greatest musicians, including Mark Turner, Bill Stewart, Nasheet Waits, Al Foster, Victor Lewis and Guillermo Klein, among others. He comes to present his new album for Sunnyside Records, “Vintage” (recorded with the legendary pianist Kenny Barron) on tour in Europe, with an all-stars consisting of Danny Grissett, Joe Martin and Johnathan Blake. Jerome Sabbagh is a D'Addario Woodwinds artist.
