Born in Potenza, Italy, in 1987, Andrea Candela developed an interest in piano at the age of 6. Subsequently, he began studying classical piano at the Conservatorio di Potenza.

Over the years, he had the opportunity to meet and study with musicians such as Pino Iodice, Barry Harris, Dado Moroni, Ehud Asherie, Franco D'Andrea, and Stefano De Bonis.
