A young drummer bursting with talent and ambition, Matis Hurion hosts the famous #PlacesAuxJeunes Sunday jam once a month!

Originally from the Paris region, Matis grew up in the south of France in an artistic family, with a composer father and author mother. He took his first steps at the Perpignan conservatory. With his DEM in hand in 2021, he decided to move to Paris, where he began frequenting the city's clubs and getting involved in various projects. In September of the same year, he joined the Pôle Supérieur de Paris Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB), where he is currently pursuing his musical studies, notably with Martin Wangermée. His influences include Robert Glasper, Kendrick Lamar, Nick Hakim, SiR... and renowned drummers such as CJ Thompson, Justin Tyson, Taron Lockett, Rico Nichols...

His multi-influences are evident in this Sunday's jam, a Jordan Rakei special! With his subtle and sensitive songwriting, the New Zealand songwriter and musician creates music that blends jazz, soul, electronica and hip-hop, creating a unique and captivating sound...

It promises to be a colorful, modern and dynamic year of jamming!
