Giuseppe Millaci is one of the most active double bassists on the Belgian scene. His fourth album, "Double Portrait", highlights the relationship between the composer and his instrument, consolidated by the introspection of the last three years. A blend of sometimes shorter pieces that pay tribute to Millaci's pronounced taste for bold rhythms.

Highly inspired by the solo double bass albums of Dave Holland, Larry Grenadier and John Patitucci, Giuseppe offers melodies that allow the double bass to emerge from the rhythm section and take its rightful place with a melodic and harmonic dimension.                                                                  

This album is the result of time and thought devoted to composition, put at the service of musicians whose know-how and technique no longer need to be demonstrated. For this new release, the Trio invites Takumi Nakayama, a rising saxophone star in Japan with whom they have toured.
