Jazz legends, saxophonist André Villéger and pianist Alain Jean-Marie, unite their musical virtuosity for the first time to make us dream with their new album, "Time to Dream". Original compositions and innovative arrangements create a unique atmosphere, subtly blending tradition and modernity. Each piece is a work of art in itself, testifying to the exceptional passion and talent of André Villéger and Alain Jean-Marie. No tribute to a particular author here but a mix of standards, pieces by big names in jazz, and compositions by Villéger, all around the theme of ballads. If the tempos are very close from one theme to another, the atmospheres are different thanks to the variety of composers chosen because these two gentlemen prefer ecumenism to fundamentalism when it comes to era, style and music in general. Thus, alongside eternal standards we find the signatures of McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Rowles, Hank Jones, Duke Ellington and even Raymond Fol, one of the great French pianists of the 50s and 60s. In this cozy atmosphere where everyone listens as much as they play, grace, elegance and, sometimes, fragility settle. Here are two musicians who transcend the notions of classicism and modernity, the main thing being for them to give us time to dream.
