At the crossroads of neo-soul, hip-hop and jazz, Laure Sanchez and her musicians present a poetic universe where groove takes center stage.
After graduating in mathematics in 2012, Laure made a radical life choice and threw herself into music, learning to play the jazz double bass. That same year, she joined the Bordeaux Conservatoire, where she began her jazz and classical training.
In 2016, she took part in the Tremplin Action Jazz at the Rocher de Palmer in Bordeaux, where she won the Prix de la Note Bleue, which opened the doors to the Monségur jazz festival. Very newjazz/soul in one case, and more ethnic and electric in the other, her varied repertoire is essentially based on her own compositions, although she does work on a few covers of Esperanza Spalding or Robert Glasper in particular.
