THE BLAKETTES is a be bop and hard bop jazz band, created by four musicians who are passionate about this American jazz, born between the 50s and 60s on the East Coast of the United States of America. They honor the founding fathers and mothers of this energetic and romantic music known as hard bop.
Thanks to the multitude of composers, arrangers and performers from this era, LES BLAKETTES draw on, revisit and cook up a rich, lively repertoire. They invite you on a journey to the heart of 60s jazz, paying passionate tribute to its creators: Art Blakey, Wayne Shorter, Bobby Timmons, Charles Mingus, McCoy Tyner, Cedar Walton Pharoah Sanders, and many others...
