Monday's Jam Tribute To Horace Silver
hosted by FRANÇOIS CONSTANTIN
At the Baiser Salé we have known François Constantin and his jams for more than thirty years, so you might as well say that he invited the whole French jazz scene to perform alongside him! He knew how to make this weekly meeting an internationally known institution. This evening, he pays homage to a major figure in hard bop and soul-jazz. The American pianist Horace Silver has left a lasting mark on this current, being its main architect. Founder alongside Art Blakey of the Jazz Messengers, Horace Silver also collaborated with Stan Getz and Miles Davis, while losing an impressive discography with his own quintet. François Constantin surrounds himself with his companion of the "salsa project", the unavoidable amateur of Latin music, Fabio Deldongo. A young virtuoso multi-instrumentalist artist of genius, William Brunard quickly distinguished himself by his talent whose potential seems infinite... until he was noticed by the elite of French jazz alongside jazz tenors Birelli Lagrène and Angelo Debarre . Renaud Gensane, sideman of Véronique Sanson and Christophe Maé adds his trumpet to the cast! A concert set followed by two sets of improvised musical encounters where generously, experience, energy and talent take into account the incomparable atmosphere of the Monday evening Jam Sessions!
