At the Baiser Salé we have known François Constantin and his jams for thirty years, so you might as well say that he invited the whole French jazz scene to perform alongside him! Nina Simone changed jazz and the history of music in the United States. An extraordinary personality with an extraordinary life, her contralto voice, her virtuoso playing on the piano and her compositions place her in the Pantheon of music. Who other than the talented Ann Shirley to cover Nina Simone's songs? The French singer of Cameroonian origin with multiple talents and facets has an incredible deep and suave vocal timbre that did not escape anyone at the gates of the final of The Voice a few years ago... She is accompanied by Nicholas Vella at the piano, creative and dynamic musician who scours jazz clubs and concert halls, member of the Monsieur Mâlâ group which has established itself as one of the essential formations of the exciting new French scene. As well as bassist and composer Stéphane Castry who has built his experience on numerous collaborations: Keziah Jones, Kassav', Angélique Kidjo, Ayo, Asa... With his elegant bass playing, of great technicality and his unique groove, he has knew how to win the recognition of his peers and his public. Together and for the pleasure of all, they deliver a beautiful tribute to Nina Simone, the artist whose deep voice and her jazz, blues, gospel and folk sounds have marked several generations of singers.
