As part of the festival: Jazz at Champs-Elysees

Internationally recognized as one of the masters of stride piano, Jean-Baptiste Franc is the first Frenchman to win first prize in the international stride piano competition organized by Ole Miss University of Mississippi in May 2018. Coming from a family of musicians, his grandfather René plays the clarinet in the orchestra of Pierre Braslavsky who accompanies Sidney Bechet since 1949 and his father, Olivier, is the representative of the music of Sidney Bechet on the soprano saxophone, Jean-Baptiste asserts himself by revisiting themes ranging from Chopin to the Beatles via Charles Trénet!

For his latest record in tribute to Erroll Garner, “Garner in my mind” on Socadsic, he received the “Hot Club de France Pianiste 2022” prize.
