Adèle Viret Quartet - One of the 4 Best New Generation Groups of the year! (AJC 2023 price)

Lulled by music since she was very young, Adèle very quickly developed a sense of improvisation and composition. After studying classical cello, she joined the national youth orchestra of the Mediterranean in 2019, and in 2020 the national youth jazz orchestra. 2023 will mark the announced start of his personal projects with the creation of “L'Adèle Viret Quartet”, which has just been promoted among the four best groups of 2023 by a jury made up of 100 Jazz clubs members of the AJC, network of the diffusion of Jazz in France and Europe.
Drawing on her diverse experiences, she offers a repertoire nourished by influences that touch and amuse her. Writing and improvisation mingle in an alloy of lyricism, rhythmic games and minimalist atmospheres. The cello is revisited in all its facets: soloist, chamber player, but also bassist in a formation with multiple combinations.
What is first surprising when listening to the quartet of cellist Adèle Viret is the great maturity of this music. Accompanied by his accomplice and brother Oscar Viret on trumpet, rhythmist Pierre Hurty on drums, and the magnificent Wadji Riahi on piano, this promising quartet will take us far away.
This concert is in partnership with AJC as part of Jazz Migration
