"The singer from Ouled Teima, Morocco, has crossed many borders, landing as a child in the Paris region with her family, before moving to New York in 2001. A trajectory that explains the mixed sounds of her opus." - LE MONDE

Born on the African continent, raised in Europe and now based in the United States, Malika Zarra is a true multicultural metamorph. "This nomadism is part of my DNA. The more I mature, the more I return to the feeling I had as a child: the world belongs to me. In New York, "the Mecca of jazz" as she calls it, Malika developed her listening skills and quickly made a name for herself. She worked with artists such as Amy Lee and Marcin Wasilewski's trio. Today, she is in great demand as a sidewoman around the world, working with such artists as Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Gretchen Parlato, Makoto Ozone and Aruan Ortiz. Loving to collaborate with other artists to nourish herself and learn, she brings us this evening an intimate encounter with pianist Carl-Henri Morisset. A native of Torcy, in 2018 Jazz Magazine included him in its list of 20 pianists to watch, and nominated him as Revelation of the Year.
