Giulio Ottanelli Quartet

The piano-less quartet aims to explore the sound created by two saxophones in dialogue with each other, in a continuous flow that blends composition and improvisation.
The two extremely different yet complementary voices of saxophonists Giulio Ottanelli and Jérémie Lucchese are supported by a tight, sparkling rhythm section formed by Tom Boizot and Emile Rameau.
The group's rhythmic, energetic music is characterized by refined melodies and odd tempos, with influences ranging from historic jazz musicians such as L. Tristano, B. Strayhorn and C. Mingus to traditional Eastern European music.
The highly recognizable themes of the compositions, alternating with impetuous improvisations, make the show accessible to all types of audience.
