The group's personal contemporary jazz is colorful, precise and light, drawing on a variety of influences ranging from modal jazz to modern classical music, bossa nova and alternative rock. The repertoire consists mainly of compositions, but also includes a few covers.
The group's music has its roots in the jazz of the mid-60s, carried by musicians such as Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson and Miles Davis' second quintet, as well as their direct and indirect descendants, including Wynton and Brandford Marsalis, Kenny Wheeler, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Robert Glasper and Pierre de Bethmann.
