ROSE FRANCK QUARTET

Jazz often draws on instrumental pieces or songs from other musical regions. Jacques Loussier is famous for his interpretations of Bach's music, Thierry Eliez pays homage to the Beatles with "3 around the 4", and singer Paul Anka makes pop swing with "Rock Swings", not to mention Miles Davis with Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time". Many of the world's jazzmen do the same...

Rose Franck takes us on the opposite journey, propelling great jazz standards into another world.

With pop accents, harmonies imbued with 20th-century classical music or more ethnic rhythms, Franck creates a sonic setting around Rosa's voice, sensual, strong and rich in Latin American culture, giving these timeless, magnificent songs a new aesthetic. Spanish adaptations are added to this original reinterpretation.
