Ibrahim Sulaimany is a French Syrian composer and guitarist who arrived in France in January 2015. After almost 20 years in the music business, the war in Syria has taken everything from him, except the desire to resist and keep his music alive. That's why he's come up with a new Oriental Jazz project, reflecting his musical influences through Western and Oriental music. To achieve this, he fuses the musical heritage of Syrian folklore with the harmonies of modern jazz in new compositions, written since his arrival in France. The resulting repertoire is then placed in the hands of the musicians in his band: Bassel Kayssieh on oud, a friend of Syrian origin, who adds an oriental touch with the sound of his instrument, Teddy Moire on double bass, Éric Varache on drums and Damien Hennicker on tenor and soprano saxophone, three highly eclectic musicians who, through their enthusiasm for the project and their solid experience, have brought their own musical influences to it.
The band will take you on an exotic musical journey rich in emotions, between acoustic and electric sounds, tension and appeasement.
Bassel Kayssieh: oud
Teddy Moire: double bass
Éric Varache: drums
Damien Hennicker: tenor and soprano saxophone
