Like a cork popping out of a magnum, this quartet reveals an intoxicating, sparkling vintage jazz vintage. Ô de mon Chéri revisits a few standards from the repertoire, as well as some lesser-known gems, with a little detour into French chanson and Cuban rhythms. Sometimes slipping into the shoes of Aznavour, sometimes into Billie Holiday or Rose Murphy, the Parisian singer conjures up the ghosts of Duke Ellington and Cole Porter, and sprinkles the Roaring Twenties into a third millennium that's a little lacking in them.
