Omri Mor

Spotted by Avishai Cohen for his virtuosity and knowledge of Arabo-Andalusian music, chaâbi and jazz, Omri Mor was invited to tour with him in a trio all over the world. From the age of 14, he took lessons by ear from oud player Nino "El Maghribi" Bitton while studying at the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music alongside Benjamin Oren, Arnie Lawrence and Slava Ganelin. His debut album 'It's About Time', on which he surrounded himself with an exceptional cast (Avishai Cohen on double bass, Michel Alibo on electric bass and Karim Ziad on drums), reveals a style of playing with perfectly mastered influences, revealing an extraordinary pianistic talent. This historic trio, who haven't performed in Paris for years, are back for the new season of Jazz à l'ECUJE.
