Art Blakey And The Jazz Messengers

Born in 1919, he first learned piano and began his drumming career at 16, playing with Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Bud Powell... In the 50s, he formed the Jazz Messengers, one of the most important groups in the history of jazz, which lasted more than three decades!  One of the pillars of bebop in the 1940s, he was also a talent finder: Clifford Brown, Wayne Shorter, Keith Jarrett and many others. He has largely contributed to making known themes such as Blue March, Moanin', Caravan, I Remember Clifford etc. that you will enjoy during this tremendous night thanks to the pianist Alain JEAN-MARIE, Julien ALOUR on trumpet, Eric BARRET on saxophone and drummer Philippe SOIRAT under the musical direction of bassist Jacques VIDAL.
