Joachim Govin Quartet Feat. Tony Tixier

Joachim has released his first two albums as a quartet with Ben van Gelder: Elements (2015) and Present (2020). Ben is considered by peers (Aaron Parks, Ambrose Akinmusire and Will Vinson among them) to be one of the three best alto saxophonists in the world. 
Together, Ben and Joachim have built up a shared repertoire of personal compositions and various covers. The addition of their mutual friend Tony Tixier to the group, and their shared love of the great standards of the American Songbook, completed the sound of this explosive yet meditative quartet. The shadows of John Coltrane and Lee Konitz, as well as Kurt Rosenwinlel and Kenny Garrett, are never far away.
