Cédric Chauveau Trio

Every Sunday and Monday, la Rhumerie brings you together for a jazz evening with Alex Swing Events, thus reviving the tradition of St Germain des prés during the fifties, and offers a selection of rums and West Indian cuisine (surcharge + € 1 per order on concert days).

Cédric Chauveau is an internationally renowned pianist. He developed his trio with Nicola Sabato (double bass) and Mourad Benhammou (drums), who accompanied New York saxophonist Craig Handy on tour in April 2013. Very active within the Mingus Big Band, often surrounded by the most greats (Dee Dee Bridgwater, Herbie Hancock, Betty Carter, etc.), Craig Handy is known for having played the role of Coleman Hawkins in the film “Kansas City” by Robert Altman.

They recorded together a second opus (“When Mosquitoes Buzz” released in 2024), an anthology of his latest compositions.
