Maxime Sanchez Trio

Maxime Sanchez is a pianist as intense as he is discreet. His percussive touch and immense harmonic vocabulary can stun. Yet he lets the music breathe, as if virtuosity didn't exist. His approach to the trio is the fruit of carefully studied influences, which earned him third prize in the Thelonious Monk competition. This project is also born of a musical ethic, where personal ambition is not preferred to altruism, and where answers never replace questions. This very first album as leader was the culmination of a visceral relationship with the two accompanying musicians: Maxime Florent Nisse on double bass and Guilhem Flouzat on drums.
